Ndai Island aftermath of Logging?

Could this be an aftermath of logging activities in the area? Early this year an assessement team from the Auki Red Cross Branch did an Impact assessment on the plight of the Ndai islanders suffering from drought and food shortage due to the land fertility problems and degradation. These were some of the pictures taken of the island at that time.
